LEARN THINGDADDY · ONE CONNECTED EXAMPLE

Start with one thing.
Follow its context.

The five pillars answer five practical questions about the same composition. Use this short path first, then choose the detailed lessons or book journey.

The configuration library: begin with the educational PCR demo, then explore your authorized ThingSite templates. Watch a source-backed build or inspect an incomplete evidence workbench. Keep known BOM participants and missing requirements distinct as exact configuration documents move forward.

Inspect real research measurements, replay the qPCR control check and see the remaining driver and protocol evidence gaps. External research stays separate from Diazyme assay results.

Private educational example: inspect two measured-cell traces, unresolved mappings and candidate instrument → AFO → ADM links. This external research is not a company-approved ThingSite integration or a live-machine run.

YOUR FIRST WALKTHROUGH

One thing. Five questions.

Start at P1 or jump to a question. Each link opens a specific record in the existing workspace. Its callouts guide the next action; “Explain this” opens the deeper lesson.

What is an In-Context ID?

It is the exact identifier used to connect a thing to its role, sources and relationships. The name helps you read the screen; the ID lets an agent follow the same thing across views.

Sample thermal cycler · GIAI · non-issued

urn:epc:id:giai:0614141.4
  1. 01

    P1 · In-Context Identity

    Which exact thing?

Open the sample thermal cycler. Compare its readable name with its full GIAI and source occurrence.

What you should see: One exact asset address, with its non-issued state and original source kept alongside it.

    Inspect the cycler’s ID
  2. 02

    P2 · Capabilities and drivers

    What can it do?

Inspect that same cycler’s evidence. Explore its components, materials, settings and candidate operations.

What you should see: A description of capabilities and limits, with untested driver behavior still identified.

    Explore its capabilities
  3. 03

    P3 · Protocols and workflows

How does it work with others?

Open the proposed run step. Find the relationship that names the cycler as a participant.

What you should see: The step, participant and relationship retain their own exact addresses.

    Follow the run step
  4. 04

P4 · Cloud and edge binding

    Where would it operate?

Inspect the AWS environment design and the site bindings it would require.

What you should see: An operating-environment proposal with open requirements, rather than a deployed system.

    Review the environment
  5. 05

    P5 · Graph and MCP

    How is it all connected?

See the cycler in the graph, reached from that exact protocol step. Inspect the relationship and its source.

What you should see: A focused view of the original evidence, with the complete graph still available.

    Trace it in the graph

Try the anonymous practice board. Propose a participant reference, inspect what changed and preserve a receipt. Your practice does not rewrite the source evidence.

BACKGROUND & STRATEGIC DIRECTION

From disconnected systems to in-context Physical AI.

The ThingDaddy book supplies the author’s account of how the idea developed, its design principles and a future to work toward. These are attributed history and vision—not proof of every capability in today’s demonstration.

The author’s history

Connect systems without losing meaning

The book traces the roots of ThingDaddy to translating between incompatible enterprise vocabularies. The enduring lesson is to preserve what a transaction means, not just move its fields.

The author’s history

Keep the physical identity through each hand-off

The author’s supply-chain account follows serialized assets through sensing, warehouse and commercial records. That experience inspired continuity between a physical identifier and the evidence-backed records that refer to it.

Design principle

Identity is the beginning of context

An identifier tells an agent which participant a record concerns. Separate relationships describe its role: asset, component, material, method, operator or location. A shared label never proves that two records are the same thing.

Future vision

A life story for each exact asset

The long-term vision follows a particular unit from design and manufacture through use, maintenance and retirement. Its records should preserve what changed, who asserted it and which evidence supports it.

Current boundary: CAD integration, commissioning and complete temporal lifecycle histories are not demonstrated by this sample.

Future vision

Protocols are collaborations

The book’s concert metaphor treats a protocol as equipment, materials, people and documents contributing at particular stages. A result is meaningful when its evidence-supported participants and method remain connected.

Current boundary: The walkthrough shows an educational composition. It does not execute an instrument, qualify an assay or approve a result.

Future vision

Reuse the context pattern and retest every change

The proposed architecture keeps a common context pattern while assets, sensors, rules and operating environments change. Local operation and shared long-term memory have different responsibilities. Every new combination still needs evidence, review and scoped testing.

Current boundary: A proposed adapter or cloud design is not plug-and-play compatibility, commissioned infrastructure or permission to act.

Future vision

A corpus about particular things

The book imagines a growing corpus of structured facts tied to exact assets, methods, events and results. Retrieval and scenario testing can use that context; measured learning requires recorded feedback and evaluated changes.

Current boundary: Generating synthetic configurations does not prove model-weight training or immunity to incorrect answers.

INSPECT THE EVIDENCE

The full context stays within reach.

The sample retains every original source occurrence, proposed relationship and open requirement. Its graph and JSON remain available beyond the guided path.

This demonstration does not verify a real unit, validate an assay, commission an environment or train model weights.
