3011 · Capabilities and source evidence

Chapter 8 · Discovery starts with an observation

Separate a carrier observation, identity resolution, contextual relationship and allowed response.

Open a workspace beside this lesson. Protected links keep their existing access gates; no new permission is granted by this course.

Why this matters

Sensing can reveal a participant’s presence, but presence is not a verified installation or permission.

The book’s awakening metaphor emphasizes the transition from a static record to time-bound observations.

Step by step

  1. 01

    Describe a hypothetical startup encounter

Screen or control: Chapter 8 discovery table and passages

Why: One observed startup is not an asset’s whole history.

How: Draft a startup observation with the existing asset address. Preserve unknown prior history and mark any inferred location or relationship as a proposal.

What you should see: An observation plus proposed context.

Verify: The timestamp is unknown unless an actual observation supplies it.

  2. 02

Inspect the relationship rather than assume it

Screen or control: P5 sensor context and exact relationship inspector

Why: A relation’s source and state matter as much as its endpoints.

How: Open the component context and inspect its original directed links. Record why they are illustrative rather than observed installation evidence.

What you should see: A contextual relationship assessment.

Verify: No permanent physical bond is created by a sensor label or graph line.

What is happening under the surface

An observation has its own value, observer, time, place and quality.

A discovered identifier can lead to inspection of existing context. Any proposed friendship, installation or action needs a separate assertion and authority state.

Common mistakes

  • Treating a first recorded startup as the first startup ever.
  • Equating sensing or “friend” language with identity equivalence, installation or consciousness.

The records an agent needs

The current graph is an authored educational composition. Real startup/carrier observations and responses would be additional separately identified records.

Pointers locate records; hashes pin bytes; lesson numbers locate teaching material. None substitutes for an applicable assigned GS1 identity.

Apply what you learned

Make an observation-to-resolution flow with two stopping gates.

Prepare these outputs

  • Observation envelope
  • Exact resolution target
  • Relationship-evidence gate
  • Action-authorization gate

Review your work against these checks

  • Resolution does not execute anything
  • Prior history is preserved
  • Inferences remain distinct from observations

Check your reasoning

A carrier reveals an unfamiliar identifier. What is the next safe action?

This answer stays in page memory, is cleared when you leave, and is not sent or recorded as certification, validation or authority.

Source and current boundaries

Startup chips, sensor-triggered discovery and automated responses are vision examples, not current hardware evidence. Digital-life language remains a metaphor.

Current governance adds exact-source retention, unknown-state, disclosure, validation and scoped-authority safeguards. Those safeguards are not represented as quotations from the historical book.

Numeric lesson numbers are educational content locators, not GS1 identities. Linked public screens use an anonymous non-issued fixture; reading, retrieval and practice do not authorize physical/cloud execution or constitute model-weight training.
