Inspect synthetic observations without changing their meaning
Keep expected roles, generated observations, calculated results and missing context separate.
Open a workspace beside this lesson. Protected links keep their existing access gates; no new permission is granted by this course.
Why this matters
A result can look convincing while its method, producing participant or sample context is absent. The learning value comes from preserving those differences.
Synthetic fixture values test software behavior; they do not qualify an assay or establish that the anonymous composition executed.

Step by step
01 Identify the fixture’s own context
Screen or control: Sample model and scenario selectors
Why: The producer and configuration matter as much as the visible curve.
How: Open the sample workspace only under existing authorized access. Read its synthetic scope and exact stored configuration/model references before interpreting a displayed observation.
What you should see: A source-bound synthetic fixture, or an explicit access limit.
Verify: No real instrument measurement or clinical finding is claimed.
02 Compare present, absent and fault cases
Screen or control: Observation/result inspector and scenario selector
Why: Observed behavior and expected role cannot be collapsed into a single pass label.
How: Compare a declared blank, supplied negative observation and missing result. Then inspect one fault or missing-context scenario. Record which raw values remain present and which fields are null.
What you should see: Separate observation, result, expectation and assessment records.
Verify: Do not turn missing into negative or remove a failure to improve the result.
03 Trace the result’s lineage
Screen or control: Complete P5 graph and exact JSON
Why: A chart is only one human view of the fixture.
How: Follow the result to its exact producing model/configuration and raw observation record. State the software test actually performed and the scientific validation not performed.
What you should see: An inspectable synthetic lineage.
Verify: The public demo and the separate fixture remain separate contexts.
What is happening under the surface
A declared blank, a supplied negative-control observation and an absent curve are different states. Missing data remains null rather than being replaced by zero.
The separate sample workspaces retain their own model, scenario, exact configuration and provenance. They must not be relabelled as observations from the public 0614141 composition.
Common mistakes
- Relabelling a separate synthetic dataset as the public demo’s run.
- Replacing absent observations with plausible curves.
The records an agent needs
These are distinct fixture facts. The lesson does not transfer synthetic results between configurations or manufacture physical measurements.

Apply what you learned
Classify three fixture states and one missing-context case without giving scientific advice.
Prepare these outputs
- A present observation, a declared control/blank and an absent result.
- The exact fixture’s producing context where supplied.
- The current assessment and its remaining evidence gaps.
Review your work against these checks
- Null stays null.
- Expected role and observed value remain separate.
- No assay qualification or patient interpretation is made.
Check your reasoning
How should an absent curve be represented?
This answer stays in page memory, is cleared when you leave, and is not sent or recorded as certification, validation or authority.Source and current boundaries
The sample workspaces are separate synthetic software fixtures. Their actual producing configuration and access controls govern the data, not this course label.
